The next generation Volvo D13TC engine will now come standard in all VNL 740, 760 and 860 sleeper models. Originally introduced for customers with long-haul, steady-speed operations, the next generation 13-liter Volvo D13TC can now provide fuel savings for almost any customer in any application.
Tyson Foods produces one in every five pounds of chicken, beef and pork consumed in the US. That’s 19,000 truckloads each week traveling across North America. The volume alone is enough to make transportation a key to their success. At Tyson, the connection to trucking goes much deeper than daily logistics. It represents their heritage.
“It should look a little unexpected and somewhat of a pleasant surprise,” said Brian Balicki, Head of Design for Volvo Trucks North America. It should also look, and be, purposeful. “One of the things we always talk about here in the Design Studio – and it’s part of our design philosophy – is passion for purpose. We really want to make sure that whatever we bring into the product has a purpose to it or some kind of function.”
Volvo Trucks’ engineering team decided to ignore conventional wisdom when they began work on the new Volvo VHD series. They set out to build a vocational truck that has it all.
The new VHD is designed to set a new standard for vocational trucks, and that includes driver environment. Volvo Truck’s latest interior enhancements are found throughout the VHD’s cab.
