Safety is one of our three core values. Why? Because it matters to us all. Our Zero Accident Vision means that we strive toward zero accidents with Volvo trucks. We’re not there yet, but we continue to lead the way in improving road safety, especially when it comes to the interplay between driver, truck and the surrounding traffic. After all, we have a holistic approach to traffic safety that takes all road users into consideration. Our aim is clear: to minimize the risk of accidents and reduce the effect in the event of one. It’s really about creating the conditions for safe transportation.

In order to pave the road to a safer America, we believe that it’s important to publicly acknowledge and reward companies that implement safe driving initiatives with their drivers. Now entering its seventh year, Volvo’s Safety Award program recognizes the outstanding safety performance of North American fleets. Since 2009, Michelin Americas Truck Tires has been a co-sponsor of the program.

“By making safety a priority every day, Ruan Transportation and Searcy Trucking were able to deliver an outstanding safety performance during the past year,” said Göran Nyberg, president, Volvo Trucks North America. “Their investments in industry-leading safety programs and training show a dedication to driver safety, we congratulate them on this achievement.”

Without further ado, let’s meet the winners of this year’s awards:
